Return To Kemet (Original Painting)

This piece was created during  a very dark time in my life. I was going rough a deep transformation and had to face depression head first. I started this piece off with an idea. I was yearning to be around the water, I was craving peace. I decided to take a photo as my reference for this piece. I used AI to help me with an idea for the background. I ended up finding an ocean themed AI green screen. I took the photo and began my Visual Artist process shortly after that.  Sketching out the frame of my body and turning my thoughts into a real life piece. This piece took me about 4 days to complete. During this creative process I was brought out of a deep depression. I found hope and faith again. I learned that even in the darkest of times there is always space to create and grow.  The pose and posture in this piece is symbolic of balance and peace of mind. Grounding oneself and connecting with your roots will always bring you back into your truest form.
